For 30 years, the Independent Book Publishers Association’s Benjamin Franklin Awards™ have been regarded as one of the highest national honors for small and independent publishers. This year there were close to 1,500 entries, three or four finalists were named in each of fifty-four categories.
“This year’s list of IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ winners rest at the pinnacle of professional independent publishing. These are the best of the best,” said IBPA CEO Angela Bole. “This is important because in the end it’s not just about publishing; it’s about publishing well. Becoming an IBPA Benjamin Franklin Award™ winner showcases a publisher’s commitment to professional standards and high-quality book content and production.”
What If? Publishing entered author Lynette Chilcoat’s book, Chill Out Guide to Colorado, Tips from a Native and on April 6th was awarded a Silver Benjamin Franklin Award Design at their awards ceremony in Austin, TX.
Liz Mrofka, publisher at What If? Publishing said, “Chill Out Guide to Colorado was a fun book to design, and we had a wonderful author to work with. Chilcoat saw the need for a guide for newcomers so they can navigate the state like a native. We were able to visually showcase the state but also highlight the informational tips for easy reference and make it a guide to keep handy in your glovebox or backpack.”
